KO JVVB kicked off Hewett Day weekend with their Dig Pink match against Kent on Friday night and notched another 3-0 win (26-24, 25-22, 25-22). As the score indicates the match was close, with the lead going back and forth many times in each set. KO again relied on strong serving throughout the match, to pull ahead or to maintain the lead, with aces coming at some opportune times. Most notably, Lidia Martinez-Castro ’27 earned 5 aces for the match followed by co-captain Sienna DuBois ’26 and Tara Mahoney ’27 with 2, and co-captain Laya Hall ’27, Amelia Anstead ’29, and Jahnvi Modi ’29 with one ace each. Mahoney led with offense with 6 kills. Camilla Conti ’29, who played in her first game since returning from an injury, earned 3 kills at the outside hitter position. Anstead finished the match with an exciting block and a kill at the right side.
