Volleyball – Girls Varsity vs Wilbraham & Monson Academy – Away
Win 3-0
The KO Varsity Volleyball team continued their streak of away wins with a 3-0 win over Wilbraham and Monson. Once both teams settled into the game, KO was ready to be aggressive on the service line, and that began with a key run of powerfully struck serves from co-captain Ava Cashman ‘24 in the first set. The Wyverns quickly followed up on Cashman’s serving with lightning-quick attacks from the middle, executed through Lila Klinzmann ‘27’s phenomenal setting and Chloe Delaire ’27’s laser-focused approaches and swings. KO’s defense was ready to cover and dismantle the clever and varied attacks from the opponent at the net, and co-captain Allie Arcaro ‘24, Cici Freeman ‘24, and Francesca Lamattina ‘25 led the effort in strategic and responsive court coverage. In the second set, co-captain Jillian Alexander ‘24 put her hat in the ring on the service line, orchestrating a monster service run in the middle of the set that secured KO’s lead. Lola Peck ‘26 was ready for everything at the net, providing pressure through blocks in the middle and alternating swings and tips for kills. Olivia Raccio ‘28 made her serving debut late in the second set, and followed up her strong serves with some awesome hits from the right side. In the third set, KO kept up the forward momentum on serve, and found creative ways to get around some strong blocks from the opponent. Alex Segal ‘25 hit clutch down-balls from the outside to openings in the opponent’s court. Olivia Doran ‘26 was a stalwart defensive presence in the back row, and helped the Wyverns defend their lead until the end. With some service runs from Peck, Arcaro, and Cashman again, KO sealed the deal with a 3-0 win!
