Middle School Students Learn the Creative Language of Coding

This is a worldwide movement covering over 180 countries during Computer Science Education Week.
Ann Sciglimpaglia, Head of KO’s Middle School said, “This is our fourth year taking part in the Hour of Code.  Our students have enjoyed all the different aspects and levels of coding.  We had students doing beginner level all the way to highly specialized coding languages.  It is a great exercise in computational thinking and wonderful to see all of our community (both students and adults) coding together.”
Seventh graders at KO may take a coding elective to satisfy an arts requirement, but during the Hour of Code, all the Middle School students are all in. The Hour of Code helps students appreciate computer language and prepare them for future careers that may not even exist yet. It enables students to see first hand that programming can be creative and flexible.
