Kingswood Oxford Announces Kait Perrelle as Head Varsity Field Hockey Coach

Kingswood Oxford School is excited to announce the appointment of Kait Perrelle as the next Head Coach of the Varsity Field Hockey program. Kait will also join the athletic department as Assistant Athletic Director, bringing an exceptional background in coaching, leadership, enrollment management, and student development.

Kait joins Kingswood Oxford after serving as Head Varsity Field Hockey Coach and Senior Associate Director of Admission at The Hotchkiss School. During her tenure, she helped lead one of New England’s most successful field hockey programs, capturing Founders League Championships in 2018, 2024, and 2025, winning the Western New England Championship in 2024, and earning multiple New England Tournament appearances. Prior to Hotchkiss, Kait coached at the Division I level at Harvard University and has held leadership positions with USA Field Hockey and several club and collegiate programs.

A graduate of Princeton University and a former two-sport Division I student-athlete, Kait understands the important role athletics play in a student’s educational journey. Throughout her career, she has focused on helping young people grow as athletes, leaders, teammates, and individuals. “What is evident about, and what drew me to Kingswood Oxford, is the school’s commitment to relationships and community,” said Perrelle. “I look forward to working alongside coaches, faculty, and students to impact an athletic program that supports both competitive excellence and the holistic development of every student.” Kait’s coaching philosophy centers on creating an environment where students are challenged to compete at a high level while developing confidence, resilience, leadership, and a strong sense of belonging.

“The most rewarding part of my work as a school professional, and specifically as a coach, has always been helping students discover their potential,” Perrelle said. “I am thoroughly excited to continue my coaching career on the field hockey field and focus on students developing confidence, resilience, and meaningful connections both on and off the field.”

In addition to her coaching accomplishments, Kait brings extensive experience working with students and families in independent schools. Her commitment to mentorship, relationship-building, and community aligns closely with the values of Kingswood Oxford Athletics and the broader school mission. Kingswood Oxford is also pleased to share that Assistant Coach Nicole Green will return to the sidelines this fall. Nicole’s continued presence will provide valuable continuity for our student-athletes as the program begins this next chapter under Coach Perrelle’s leadership.

Together, Kait and Nicole will build on the strong tradition of Wyvern Field Hockey while continuing to provide an outstanding experience for our student-athletes. Director of Athletics Josh Balabuch shared, “Kait is an accomplished coach with a proven record of success, but what stood out most throughout the process was her commitment to students. She builds programs rooted in relationships, accountability, belonging, and growth. Her experience in both athletics and admissions gives her a unique perspective on the student experience, and we are thrilled to welcome her to Kingswood Oxford. We are equally excited that Nicole Green will continue in her role, providing continuity and support for our student-athletes as we move forward together.”
