Three KO Student-Athletes Commit to Play at the Collegiate Level

KO celebrated a proud milestone yesterday as three standout student-athletes officially signed their National Letters of Intent, committing to continue both their athletic and academic journeys at the collegiate level. Surrounded by family, teammates, and coaches, Tyler Brown, Will Parkhouse, and Austin Perkins each took the next step toward their dreams, marking a moment that reflects years of dedication, discipline, and passion.

Tyler Brown — Track & Field
Committed to Bryant University

For Tyler Brown, who has steadily emerged as one of KO’s most dynamic track athletes, signing with Bryant University represents the culmination of years of steady progress, disciplined training, and full-school support. Known for his work ethic and quiet leadership, Brown credited KO with helping him build the strong academic foundation and time-management skills needed to thrive at the next level.

Brown was a dominant member of the Boys’ Track and Field team. The team captured the New England Division III Championships in the spring of 2025. Brown earned first place in the 200m, long jump, and triple jump and anchored the first-place 4x100m relay team. His outstanding all-around performance earned him the prestigious NEPSAC MVP award.

“KO really taught me how to balance everything—practices, academics, and personal commitments,” he said. “Those habits are going to matter even more in college.”

Will Parkhouse — Baseball
Committed to UMass Lowell

For baseball standout Will Parkhouse, choosing UMass Lowell was about more than athletics—it was about finding a coaching staff whose philosophy matched his own.

“I really liked the coaching staff there,” Parkhouse explained. “A lot of coaches have a good mindset, but this group really stood out to me. They had a true growth mindset. Rather than focusing only on where I am now, they’re looking at what I can become.”

When asked which memories stand out from his years of baseball, Parkhouse smiled at the long journey that brought him here.

“Honestly, last year’s baseball season was a ton of fun. And going to Florida with our team—that was a great experience. Even thinking back to Little League… playing just for the fun of it, all those championships, all those moments—that’s where it all started.”

Parkhouse emphasized how KO prepared him for college, academically and personally. “KO definitely prepared me academically with time management,” he said. “And I learned to feel comfortable reaching out for help from teachers. Public school was less challenging, so I didn’t need to ask for help as much. But here, it’s encouraged. It ‘s a good value the school instilled in me.”

He ended his remarks by thanking the people who supported him most: “I’d like to thank God, my family—especially my dad—and my grandparents for being here. And all my coaches and teachers in the past, too.”

Austin Perkins — Golf
Committed to the University of Florida

Golfer Austin Perkins will head to one of the strongest college golf environments in the country: the University of Florida. What drew him there was the competitive atmosphere and the people who will shape his development.

“Really just the coaching staff and all my future teammates,” Perkins said. “They’re really good, and we’re all going to bring the best out of each other. Every day is going to be competitive, and that’s where I thrive. Everyone is pushing each other and that’s what I’m looking forward to.”

Perkins has already played with many of his future teammates in national tournaments.“It’s a mix. There are seniors who lead the team, and they’re going to ask a lot from us freshmen and sophomores, too. We’ll have to pull our weight when we need it.”

Although he has earned significant individual success in golf, he treasures the team moments at KO.“My fifth year on the varsity team—long bus rides, making new friends, the fun practices—those memories stand out the most,” he said. “Sometimes you play with kids who aren’t as experienced, and you teach them a few things. I enjoyed that.”

Perkins expressed deep gratitude for the KO community. “The support from faculty and coaches grew every year. I missed a lot of school traveling for tournaments, but they made me feel like what I was doing mattered. That meant a lot because this has been a long journey.”

He ended his speech with heartfelt thanks: “I’d like to thank my family, especially my parents. They sacrificed a lot for me. My siblings always supported me, whether it’s been good or bad, they’ve always looked up t me and I’m honoed for that. And my friends here – Jack, Tommy, Pat – you all hopefully turned me into a nice young man.”

As all three athletes posed with their families and signed their commitments, the energy in the room reflected pride, optimism, and celebration. Each of them has followed a unique path to reach this milestone, but all credit the KO community for preparing them—academically, personally, and athletically—for the next chapter.Their commitments represent not only their talent, but also the coaches, teachers, teammates, and families who supported them along the way.

KO congratulates Tyler, Will, and Austin—and looks forward to watching their success at Bryant University, UMass Lowell, and the University of Florida. The future is bright.
