Each year, the Composer Colloquy Visiting Artist Series brings an internationally recognized composer to Kingswood Oxford to meet and work with choral students. All Kingswood Oxford choral groups study and perform the composer’s work, including one commissioned exclusively for the Composer Colloquy. Since the Series’ inception in 2005, our choirs have performed more than 60 commissioned pieces in various genres including contemporary classical, world music, spirituals, jazz, and acapella. Both Middle and Upper School students gain a valuable glimpse into the life of a professional working artist.
New! In 2016, the Composer Colloquy expanded to include a Recording Residency. Vocal producer and recording engineer Andrew John Kim worked with students for two weeks to record a CD.
Mosiac: A Creative Arts Album features 14 tracks of acapella, Gospel, Jazz, show music and more performed by Kingswood Oxford’s various ensembles.
