Our Boy’s Basketball team is consistently ranked among the top four teams in NEPSAC Class B and within the top 30 across all NEPSAC classes, the Wyverns boys basketball program is synonymous with success. With five NEPSAC titles to its name—most recently in 2011—Kingswood Oxford regularly competes against some of the strongest teams in the region, including powerhouse Class A boarding schools in the Founders League.
The program offers student-athletes exceptional exposure opportunities while training and competing in Hewett Gym, which is outfitted with an automatic Hudl camera to record and live stream practices and games. Since 1963, the Wyverns have also proudly hosted the storied Paul “Frosty” Francis Basketball Invitational.
Our Girl’s Basketball team plays with heart, energy, and relentless determination—leaving everything on the court. With fast-paced ball movement and unyielding effort, they are a force to be reckoned with. Competing in the highly competitive Founders League and NEPSAC Class B, the girls’ basketball program strives to uphold its tradition of excellence while instilling confidence, competitiveness, and mental toughness in its players. The program emphasizes both individual skill development and the importance of cohesive team play, preparing athletes to succeed under pressure.

From 1996 to 2005, the team reached the postseason every year, including two championship appearances, and it continues to build on that proud legacy. They have also hosted the storied Paul “Frosty” Francis Basketball Invitational since 1963—most recently earning a second-place finish in 2023 and being crowned KIT Champions in 2025.
