Meet Athletic Director Debbie Baer Fiske

Coach Deb Fiske joined the Kingswood Oxford community as Athletic Director in 2015, after a 22-year tenure as Associate Athletic Director at the University of Saint Joseph. Connecticut basketball fans know Deb from her UConn days, when she played starting point guard for the women Huskies from 1988-1992, helping the team win their first Big East Championship and play in their first Final Four.

Deb is still close to the team, serving as an on-air commentator for the IMG UConn Radio Network during basketball season. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and Fitness Management from the University of Connecticut.

“When I first came to KO, I was shy. I didn’t want to voice my opinion or join new clubs. As the years progressed, I found my stride. Athletics have been a big part of my growth. Playing different team sports taught me to be brave, to overcome my resistance, and face challenges. I learned to embrace the uncomfortable and today I feel confident and self-aware —that’s everything!”

Located in West Hartford, CT just steps from Blue Back Square, Kingswood Oxford is a private school inspiring co-ed day students in grades 6-12 with a college preparatory curriculum. Empowered students become clear confident communicators, resourceful problem-solvers, and ethical leaders. KO: where unlimited potential meets endless opportunities.
